This painting explores the complex subject of diasporic migration and intersectionality.

In a highly symbolic composition, an African female figure clings desperately to the flagpole of a foreign flag. Surrounding her lie everyday objects and a book entitled *Portuguese Constitution*, evoking the social, political and cultural realities that permeate contemporary societies. Through this contrast between the body, the national symbol and domestic elements, a long trail of beaded braids, vibrant with colour, trailing behind her, represents a heavy yet inseparable cultural heritage. The artist examines the relationships between power, influence, legal reality and identity in a globalised world.
